About us

Pottstown Bible Church
Finding Hope in the Power of the Gospel

Pottstown Bible Church is a small missions church Located in Pottstown Pennsylvania. This church was started from two small Bible studies in people's homes. God clearly had plans for this ministry. This church is a very poor church in that we do not have the finances as larger churches have. We do however have a heart for God. Somehow, every week we are able to feed people and provide biblical counseling for those in need. This ministry operates out of a small storefront in the middle of the town. We do not have a lot of room so we make do with what the Lord allows for us. excavator auction jp

As we approach the end of the year I wanted to give you some wonderful updates as to what God is doing here. We have just completed our second year here in Pottstown Pa. I truly believe that God is going to do even more wonderful things in 2006. So far we have had 54 countries visit our web site and listen to messages online. It's hard for me to imagine that. A seventeen-year-old boy from Ghana, who recently received Christ, who lives alone, asked us for a Bible and study guide. We promptly sent it out to him. Some new features we now have are a read through the Bible in a year program. We send the daily Bible readings for each day right to your e-mail box. This also helps with accountability to read your Bible each day. We offer this service free to anyone who wants to read through their Bible in a year. As of January 9, 2006 we already have 711 people from around the world who have signed up for this service. We also have the same program for the sermons we preach here each week. They can have them sent to their e-mail each week as well.

Some other new features we have are a twelve steps for addictions on our web site. These steps are modified to point people to Christ so they are somewhat different than AA's 12 steps. We now have a "listen to the Bible in a year" e-mail program for those who cannot read. They can now download and listen to the scriptures daily.

We have also started a 12-step recovery Bible study meeting for those who are ensnared in addictions to drugs and alcohol as well as gambling and pornography. We now have our learning center up and running. Adults who need to learn to read and write are now being taught each week. We also added GED teaching for those who need to get their GED.

We also are now teaching Spanish-speaking people English! We have a large Spanish speaking population here in Pottstown Pa. We have a few people with learning disabilities coming out to our class each week. We are using flashcards as well as the computers that were donated to help them as well.

I must confess that all of this is overwhelming as I watch it unfold each week before my very eyes. God still works miracles! I had no idea that God was going to unfold all of this here in this tiny church.

We currently feed an average of 50 people each week at our Saturday evening dinner. We recently handed out winter coats to the poor and homeless here in town. Our pantry hands out bags of food for those who have nothing to eat each Saturday evening as well.I often am led to what Jesus taught us in:

In Matthew 25: 35-36. He says, "For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me drink; I was a stranger and you invited me in; naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me".In verse 40 Jesus then says, "And the King will answer and say to them, Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of mine, EVEN THE LEAST OF THEM, YOU DID IT TO ME".

When I see the people we minister to each week I see Christ! I am the one who is fortunate enough to witness a Living Christ each week we serve here.I get to witness the leadership here living out what they say they believe. Putting the love of Christ into action. The people we minister to each week are given the opportunity to see a real living Jesus living through his followers each week. To date over 111 people have prayed to receive Christ as their Savior. We are going to be facing some challenges as well. As this church continues to grow so do the financial needs as well. Please keep us in prayer as we face this real need head on. We may outgrow this building at some point this year. Please pray that God would send us some strong families this year. We already know that God still works miracles today as we have seen Him do so. May God richly bless all of you who have helped us out prayerfully and financially this year!

If this site has been a blessing to you, please prayerfully consider helping this ministry by making a one time donation or perhaps a monthly donation that God may place on your heart. This will help to keep this ministry going. It is our prayer and desire that you are being blessed by this ministry.
